![]() ![]() With an additional virtual input on my hands, I have the option to utilise it if my Virtual Cable fails OR add another audio source like my Spotify or any other media players with the VoiceMeeter virtual input. But, like I said, I enjoy having flexible options. ![]() Truth be told, just having 1 hardware input and 1 virtual input is more than enough for my usual day-to-day needs. If you still want to continue communicating in your broadcast, then set up an independent mic input like I did in VoiceMeeter input 1 then route it to your virtual output. You will though instead get the signal going into VoiceMeeter’s Virtual Input. Simply use the VoiceMeeter ASIO driver and you will get the same effect. If you are only playing back audio from your DAW, you don’t need to select an input device. You don’t actually need Virtual Cables if you don’t need more than 1-2 inputs on VoiceMeeter. Your mix is now routed to VoiceMeeter’s input 2. On the output device, select Virtual Cable INPUT. On your DAW’s device preference, select your preferred input device like I did here on Reaper. See additional notes at the bottom of the page for the signal flow. As you can see, I am only listening from Output A for my raw mic input, and Output B is only for my “listeners”. Next to it, my Output B, the Virtual Output, will be the AUDIO INPUT source on OBS / Zoom / Discord. On the output hardware side, I have my Focusrite Scarlett selected on Output A1. This is where you will receive your audio source from your DAW, or in this case, Reaper for me. On input 2 is where I have my Virtual Cable OUTPUT selected. As I’ve said, you don’t need to do this if you don’t need to monitor your input source. On input 1 I have my mic input just for monitoring’s sake. Once you have both software installed, set up your inputs on VoiceMeeter first. Comments and feedback are welcome in the comments. Please bear with me as I try my best to explain this in the easiest way possible. This is likely due to the fact that Focsurite ASIO driver is not compatible with ASIO4all. But there was too much digital issue with the input audio coming in pulses. P/s: I’ve tried just using ASIO4All for this and bypassing VoiceMeeter altogether and then separate the output hardware (VC + Scarlett). One is for my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and the other is for what I want my friends to hear. So VoiceMeeter is perfect because it has 2 separate outputs to help me with this. In fact, due to its latency, I’d rather not.
